VASER Liposuction

Consultations offered at our two convenient locations in San Diego and Carlsbad

VASER Lipo is an advanced body contouring procedure that selectively removes unwanted body fat. VASER Lipo uses state-of-the-art ultrasound technology designed to easily reshape your body.

About VASER Liposuction

In his years of practice, Dr. Hayes sees this all the time: patients who diet and exercise constantly, who have completely changed their lifestyle, yet can’t seem to get the body that they’ve always wanted. Fortunately, there is a treatment that targets and removes troublesome fat that refuses to respond to your efforts.

Bridgetown Aesthetics is proud to offer VASER liposuction, high-precision a fat reduction procedure that can give you the leaner, sculpted body you’ve always dreamt of!

If you’ve struggled with weight gain, but exercise and diet just haven’t given you the dramatic transformation you’d like, VASERlipo™ can help. VASER Lipo uses a precise, minimally invasive liposuction technology that produces eye-catching results in just one procedure, without the discomfort and long recovery times of typical liposuction treatments. The procedure is tissue-selective — targeting fat while protecting other tissues from damage. It’s powerful enough to eliminate substantial areas of fat but gentle enough to treat delicate areas such as the neck and arms. VASER Lipo is clinically proven to produce even results in treated areas, leaving your skin smooth and your body beautiful.

VASER liposuction is about more than fat removal. Vaser liposuction is also capable of sculpting and highlighting your natural features.

KEY BENEFITS OF VASER LIPO

  • Provides significant results with a single procedure, with speedy recovery time
  • Achieves improved body contouring over traditional liposuction
  • Easily removes large amounts of stored fat
  • Smoothes the skin, even in delicate areas like the arms and neck
  • Refines and accentuates the appearance of muscles

UNDERSTANDING VASER LIPO

VASER Lipo uses a minimally invasive liposuction technique that selectively breaks apart and removes unwanted fat with minimal trauma.

The targeted area is injected with a special saline solution (tumescent fluid) to numb the area and shrink local blood vessels. It also temporarily expands the volume of the target area, making fat cells easier to remove.

Small probes are then inserted into the body through small incisions. These probes resonate at a high ultrasound frequency, shaking fat cells loose while leaving surrounding tissues intact. The loose fat cells mix with the tumescent fluid and are then removed from the body using special cannulas that help preserve the tissue matrix.

After surgery, patients are prescribed a recovery regimen to promote maximum skin retraction and smooth results. Your physician may also recommend massage therapy as part of your post-procedure recovery regimen.

VISUALIZING VASER LIPO

  • Infiltration: The fatty layer is injected with tumescent fluid.
  • Ultrasound Delivery: VASER Lipo ultrasound probes cause the fat cells to shake apart and combine with the tumescent fluid.
  • Aspiration: Loose fat is easily removed via specially designed suction tubes.
  • Skin Retraction: During the healing process, the skin will retract to give smooth, natural-looking results.

BENEFITS OF VASER LIPO

The VASER Lipo procedure utilizes minimally invasive ultrasound technology and is unique in its ability to spare important tissues while targeting fat. (Fat cells, nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissues are all part of the affected tissue matrix.) Our innovative technology breaks up fat while leaving all other important tissues intact, resulting in smooth results and rapid healing.

Many patients choose to have fat removed from one area of the body with a VASER Lipo procedure and have it transferred to accentuate or contour another area of the body in what is called a Fat Transfer Procedure. Fat cells treated and removed during VASER Lipo procedures are typically of high quality and are viable to reintroduce into the body in a Fat Transfer Procedure. Unlike short-lasting synthetic fillers, reinjecting your own fat may give you natural-looking results that last longer, with no risk of rejection.

VASER Hi Def Liposuction vs Traditional Liposuction

Traditional liposuction is a considerably more intensive surgical procedure compared to VASER. Traditional liposuction is performed with larger cannulas which can irritate and even damage surrounding muscle tissue, nerves, collagen, and blood vessels. VASER lipo is able to precisely zero in on smaller pockets of fat with specialized cannulas. The added power of ultrasound energy effectively breaks up fat pockets, shaking them free for a gentler fat reduction process.

Reported VASER Technology Benefits

  • Quicker results than Laser
  • Fast patient recovery
  • Less pain medication required
  • Minimal bruising
  • Reduced need for re-treatments
  • Smooth, predictable results
  • Skin tightening
  • Increased precision

Treatment Areas

Doctors have experienced great success in treating all of the following areas:

  • Jowls, chin, and neck
  • Abdomen, hips, and “love handles”
  • Male and female breasts
  • Back, buttocks, and thighs
  • Upper arms
  • Knees, calves, and ankles

Ideal Candidates

Liposuction is particularly well-suited for individuals who are at or slightly above their ideal weight but have isolated pockets of fat that cause certain areas of their body to appear disproportionate. These localized fat deposits may sometimes be an inherited trait and typically are resistant to dieting or exercise. Liposuction is often the only way to eliminate them. While it is possible to undergo liposuction at almost any age, best results are obtained if your skin still has enough elasticity to achieve a smooth contour following fat removal. Liposuction should not be considered a substitute for overall weight loss.

Liposuction can be performed on several areas of the body at the same time.

Additional Procedures

VASER Liposuction is a uniquely suited body sculpting treatment that may be performed on its own or in unison with other cosmetic treatments as part of a larger treatment course. If your aim is to achieve more curves, sculpt six-pack abs, or increase your bust size, VASER liposuction can be included with the Brazilian butt lift, breast augmentation fat transfer, and facial fat transfer. By using your body’s own “autologous fat”, we can shape up more than one part of your body. Read on to find out how each of the procedures may benefit you.

Brazilian Butt Lift

The Brazilian Butt Lift is reshaping the world of body sculpting. This procedure is dual-action treatment, capable of adding size and shape to the buttocks, but also slimming and sculpting other areas of the body in a single session. As a combination of a fat transfer and VASER liposuction treatments, your body’s own natural sources of fat are used to achieve your new, curvier figure. The procedure involves no prosthetic implants, which procedures natural-looking results.

Breast Augmentation Fat Transfer

Fuller breasts that are more proportionate are possible without implants with this natural augmentation alternative. Instead of using silicone or saline and the big incisions and stitching it takes to implant them, you can have 1-2 cup sizes injected into the breasts using your own fat! The purification process will make sure what is injected is only the good stuff and will leave you looking great. If you’re seeking a more drastic look, you may want to consider traditional breast augmentation, but this is a great consideration to start with.

Facial Fat Transfer

As youth, we take the tautness of the skin on our face for granted, among other things. Or, maybe we always had a fuller face and then we experienced significant weight loss.

Whatever caused your face to go more hollow or shallow than you’d like, you can now correct it. Replace the fullness that used to make you glow when you had just the right amount of it. The amount that will give you a more youthful appearance will be recommended to you at the time of your consultation. So don’t worry if your face has seemed to begin to sag and form wrinkles because VASER lipo can extract your body’s own fat tissue, purify it, and inject that life right back into your skin.

PREPARING FOR VASER LIPO

Prior to your procedure (at your preoperative appointment or at the time of your initial consultation), you will receive instructions regarding:

  • Discontinuation of medications that might increase bleeding or bruising, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, Aleve, or certain herbal remedies
  • Prescription for a preoperative skin cleansing regimen and antibiotics to reduce infection risk
  • Preoperative lab work may be ordered
  • You will be measured for compression garments that will be worn after your VASER Lipo procedure
  • Immediately prior to your procedure, the skin and anatomical landmarks in the areas to be contoured are marked by Dr. Hayes with special pens; additional photos will also be taken.

VASER LIPO PROCEDURE

VASER Lipo treatments are simple, minimally invasive liposuction procedures that can be performed in a physician’s office or an outpatient surgery center, while you are awake or under general anesthesia. Depending on the area(s) being treated, the procedure can take as little as one hour or up to several hours. Small incisions are made in the procedure area. A saline solution with numbing medicine is infiltrated into the area prior to the VASER energy application. During the procedure, ultrasound energy (VASER) is used to treat unwanted fat cells. The treated fat is removed with liposuction cannulas.

The Procedure

While general anesthesia is used for your comfort, being awake will not be painful but will be quick; this is a big goal of ours. We ensure, whenever possible, that treatment is comfortable. By using small incisions that have been predetermined, a thin cannula is inserted to heat and melt the desired areas using an ultrasound method that has been effectively used to do so countless time and is a big part of being sure the desired results have been achieved. Removing the fat and the purifying and using it in other areas if there are additional procedures will be part of the process, but regardless the unwanted fat will be suctioned out effectively. Sutures and a compression garment will protect the area worked on for the best chance of uncomplicated recover.

Recovery and Results

Patients are able to return home immediately following their VASER Lipo session. Swelling and bruising are common, as is mild-to-moderate discomfort initially. After a VASER Lipo procedure, most patients wear special compression garments to control swelling and to help skin contract smoothly to the body’s new contours.

Most VASER patients take about one to two days off work. It is important to walk daily during the recovery period. Patients can typically resume more strenuous physical activities two weeks after the procedure.

Results are noticeable within a few days after post-procedure swelling or bruising subsides. The results will continue to improve as the body heals, with final results typically seen in about two to four months.

Our primary goals, right away, are to make sure that you properly begin healing and that we alleviate any discomfort you feel. After being monitored by our nursing staff or other qualified staff members, you’ll be given a prescription and a recovery plan so that we can ensure optimal results. Dr. Hayes recommends you give yourself 2-3 days to recover and that you walk briefly as soon as you can once a day to promote circulation, but all of this information is general and will be personalized to you and your needs after the procedure. While your results should at least, for the most part, be able to be seen immediately, there will be small scarring but it will likely continue to fade over time. As long as you keep up a healthy and active lifestyle, we know you’ll be able to maintain and improve your results.

Your Consultation

During the initial consultation, Dr. Hayes and his experienced staff will review your medical history and perform a thorough exam to determine if you are a candidate for VASER Lipo. Photographs are typically taken to aid in your treatment planning. Your individual concerns will be addressed, and available options will be discussed with you to ensure your desires are met.

First and foremost, we want you to know that our primary goal is for any procedures you choose to be the best choice for you, including it being a safe option and one that addresses your particular concerns. Dr. Hayes will make the final determination based both on your needs and the final determination of your health and being the right candidate. Any recommendations for complementary procedures will be given at this time as well.

Dr. Hayes takes his consultations very seriously and as an opportunity to not only discuss the desired outcome you’d like to have, but to conduct an examination to make sure that you are in good health and have the ability to recover from this treatment, which requires only that you be a non-smoker (or at least stop 3 weeks prior to surgery to prepare). While VASER liposuction is the perfect treatment for stubborn fat on the body, we emphasize the importance of a diet and exercise plan that is truly about overall wellness and stress that this is not a substitute for weight loss. There are no shortcuts in getting the exact result you want to have, especially if you want it to be long-lasting.
